• Using the Celebdaq website find Bonos profile.
• Complete the worksheet on Bono.
• ? How has Bono used his fame to bring about
  change in the world?

Task 1 - on your own

• Using the internet, research one of the charities
  that Bono has worked for and find 3 facts about
  this charity.

In groups

• Research a celebrity from the previous weeks
  Dividend List who is the 'public face' of a
  campaign or organisation.
• Find out what that person's role is (help raise
  funds, promote public awareness).
• ? Has this person positively or negatively
  generated media attention over the past year?

Task 2

• Review newspaper coverage of that celebrity and
  the celebrity's campaign or organisation for a
  week.
• ? Do the articles always link the celebrity to
  the campaign/organisation?

To sum it up - discuss

• ? Why do different organisations, charities and
  campaigns receive different amounts of attention?
  Use your knowledge of media bias from previous
  lessons.
• Is it because of the celebrity fronting the
  charity?
• Do some charities get more media coverage than
  others?

Homework

• Produce an advertising campaign for a charity of
  your choice with your favourite celebrity as the
  public face of the charity.
• Make sure that you include what the charity does
  and how the celebrity is helping the charity.
