• Each class is identified by a letter of the
  English alphabet
• Subclasses by groups of letters
• Subtopics by numbers
• All content is separated into 20 classes

Finding Materials on the Shelves

• 1. Use the Library Catalogue to find a book that
  is available in the Library and Learning Centre
• 2. Write down the full call number and walk
  towards the shelves
• 3. Scan the shelves or book racks. Always begin
  with the letters, use your knowledge of the
  alphabet to find it. All book resources are
  arranged in alphabetical order. On the end of
  each shelf are the letters of the subject classes
  contained on that shelf.
• 4. After finding the right section, start
  scanning the shelves from left to right. When
  you reach the bottom of one shelf, move to the
  top left hand section of the next row of shelves.
