• A tiny egg is the beginning of a butterfly . The
  egg hatches into a caterpiller . The next stage
  of its life is a pupa. It breaks out of its shell
  and it is a butterfly. From egg to butterfly it
  takes about a year or a few days.

• The butterflies wings get hard. There are more
  than 15,000 kinds of butterflies. For 48 million
  years scientists believe butterflies existed.
  Butterflies have flew over 1,000 foot tall
  buildings. Small butterflies are as big as a dime
  and large butterflies are way bigger. Their wings
  feel like velvelt.
