6Adaptive Response Generation Subprocess
- Adaptive Response Modes
- Patterns of responding to environmental cues that
the individual develops. - Existing - those already in our repertoire
- Modified - those in which we make changes in an
existing mode - New - those that come about because our existing
or modified are not working for a particular need.
- Adaptive Response Behaviors
- Are types of behavior we use in attempting to
respond adaptively and masterfully. - Primitive (hyperstable) - presents as a kind of
stuckness - Transitional (hypermobile) - highly variable, not
well-modulated, very active, often random, and
without clear goal direction. - Mature (blended) - modulated, goal directed,
logical or insightful, and solution oriented.
- Adaptation Energy
- is the fuel that drives the occupational
adaptation process. - Primary Energy -
- Is active when there is intentional and focused
attention directed to the occupational challenge
at hand - Secondary Energy -
- is active when there is intentional and focused
attention directed away from the occupational
challenge at hand
- Adaptation Gestalt
- Every person system (psychosocial, cognitive,
sensorimotor) is present in every response. The
three person systems then must be configured into
a plan for the occupational response. This plan
is called the adaptation gestalt.
7Adaptive Response Evaluation Subprocess
- Relative Mastery - Is measured by
- Efficiency
- Effectiveness
- Satisfaction to Self
- Satisfaction to Others/Society
