muscle in shape.)-Lead an integrated, powerful
life. Know yourself. - INTERPERSONAL (While personal aspect is being
addressed, develop this skill.)-Build trust and
search for the third alternative. Win-Win
attitudes create synergy within the organization. - ORGANIZATIONAL (After personal and interpersonal

this.)-Transitioning from managing people and
things to managing things and leading people.

7Characteristics of Principle - Centered Leaders
- 1. They are continually learning.
- They read, seek training, take classes, listen
to others, learn through both their ears and
their eyes. They continually expand their
competence, their ability to do things. They
develop new skills, new interests. They discover
that the more they know, the more they realize
they dont know. - 2. They are service oriented. They see life
as a mission, not as a career. Each morning they
yoke up, putting on the harness of service,
thinking of others. They yoke up with others,
learning to pull together. - 3. They radiate positive energy.
- Their spirit is enthusiastic, hopeful,
believing. When they come into contact with
strong, negative energy sources, they tend either
to neutralize or to sidestep this negative
energy. They strive to be a peacemaker, a
harmonizer, to undo of reverse destructive energy.

- They believe in the unseen potential of all
people. They feel grateful for their blessings
and feel naturally to compassionately forgive and
forget the offenses of others. They dont carry
grudges. They refuse to label other people, to
stereotype, categorize and prejudge. - 5. They lead balanced lives. Their actions
and attitudes are proportionate to the
situation-balanced, temperate, moderate, wise.
They live sensibly in the present, carefully plan
the future, and flexibly adapt to changing
circumstances. They have a healthy sense of
humor. They are not extremists, thinking in
terms of continuums, priorities, and hierarchies.
They do not need to brag, drop names, borrow
strength from possessions or credentials or
titles or past achievements. They are open,
simple, direct, and non-manipulative in their
communication style. - 6. They see life as an adventure.
- They savor life. They are truly interested in
people and learn from them. They are not
overawed by top government figures or
celebrities. They resist becoming any persons
disciple. One of their fixed principles is
flexibility.

- Synergy is the state in which the whole world is
more than the sum of the parts.
Principle-centered people are synergistic. They
are change catalysts. They improve almost any
situation they get into. They work as smart as
they work hard. They are amazingly productive,
but in new and creative ways. In team endeavors
they build on their strengths and strive to
complement their weaknesses with the strengths of
others. They believe in others strengths and
capacities. - 8. They exercise for self-renewal.

emotional, and spiritual.
10Teaching the Principles
- 1. We learn better when we know were going to
teach it. - 2. We dont really learn it until we apply it.
