What is Public Relations?

• Public relations helps an organization and its
  publics adapt mutually to each other. In this
  definition, the essential functions of research,
  planning, communications and evaluation are
  implied. Key words are "organization," rather
  than the limiting implication of "company" or
  "business," and "publics," which recognizes that
  all organizations have multiple publics from
  which they must earn consent and support.

What is PRSSA/PRSA?

• PRSSA is the Public Relations Student Society of
  America
• 297 Chapters, more than 10,000 members
• PRSA is the Public Relations Society of America
• Nearly 30,000 members in all areas of the public
  relations industry

What are Hubbell Points?

• Hubbell Points are used to decide who is eligible
  for certain events, conferences etc.
• The member in charge of the event is responsible
  for reporting Hubbell Points
• Generally, one point per hour of activity
• i.e. one point for general meetings and committee
  meetings, two points for volunteer activities
