BACKGROUND
  • Re-write USAF Appendix to DLAR 4155.37
  • Develop implement a plan to correct maintain
    the Type II Shelf-Life records applicable to the
    three ALCs
  • Hired contractor to work this for all three ALCs
  • USAF Appendix contains information
    instructions regarding storage criteria,
    inspection, testing, shelf-life extension,
    shelf-life code challenge
  • The appendix has been re-written agreed to by
    the three ALCs
  • The updated appendix has been delivered to HQ
    USAF/ILGD
  • Following Air Force Approval, the Appendix will
    be forwarded to DLA for formatting and posting

ASSIGNED TASKS
  • Contractor provides support in following areas
  • Review and analysis of shelf-life items managed
    by the AF
  • Review and analysis of data elements related to
    each shelf-life item
  • Provide recommendations to managers
  • Develop and implement process to assure access
    for data maintenance by AF personnel
  • Contractor item reviews are ongoing and records
    will be used to add / correct data in SLES

    records
  • Items in storage but missing in SLES
  • Ammunition items (615) included in SLES

  • Continue SLES update
  • Evaluate need for capability to sort / identify
    AF items in SLES
  • Evaluate SLES interface and report capability
  • Continue contractor shelf-life item review
  • Review policy regarding ammunition items
  • Develop SLES data input process to be used by
    contractor and ALC personnel
  • Take action to address any AF Appendix issues
    requiring attention
