er life, the head of Map Makers Inc. wants to
find out more about the other regions of the
world.
8 She has chosen your class to participate in an e
xpedition. Some groups will explore the arctic
zone and others will explore the tropic zone.
9 Each expedition will pay close attention to the
climate conditions and natural resources of that
region.
10 The guidelines for the expedition are as follows

11- Get in your expedition group of 4 people.
- 2. Decide which region you will be exploring,
the arctic zone or the tropic zone.
12- Brainstorm with your expedition what you will see
in your climate zone that you might not find in
other places. Include natural vegetation, crops,
animals, and natural landforms. - Assign the following roles to the expedition
members in your group.
13- Cartographer
- This person will draw out a detailed map of
the area that must include a map key and compass
rose.
14- Botanist Sketcher
- This person will keep a journal of all native
plant life found. The journal will have
drawings, descriptions and explanations of the
animals in the region.
15- Zoologist Sketcher
- This person will keep a journal of all the
native animal life found. The journal will have
drawings, descriptions and explanations of
animals in the region.
16- Reporter
- This person will write the press release of the
expedition. Include hardships caused by being
in the region and special things your group had
to deal with.
