Role of the Committee
  • The Content Policy Committee is charged with
    providing oversight and policy direction for
    PBSs programming services, including online
    services and promotion. The Committee is
    expected to recommend general program policies to
    the Board but will not make specific programming
    or scheduling decisions.

Responsibilities of the Committee
  • Review and approve annual program and content
    mission, plans and objectives
  • Review and approve the standards to be used in
    evaluating the performance of PBS programming and
    content services
  • Review and approve PBS annual promotion plans

Responsibilities of the Committee
  • Review and make recommendation on the annual NPS
    assessment
  • Conduct, with the assistance of an independent
    research firm, an annual Programming Services
    evaluation
  • Provide policy oversight for funding and
    administration
  • Protect the independence and editorial integrity
    of the CPE
