• Leadership provides vision, trust,
  inspiration, mobilization, spurs progress,
  loyalty, energy, belonging
• Governance provides oversight, monitoring,
  arbiter of policy and procedure,
  institutionalizes practice, secures
  agreements,creates access, proper implementation,
  can assist with sustainability

• ? Are not mutually inclusive or exclusive
• ? Successful Community Schools Require both
• ? Its imperative for a Site Coordinator to be
  established, preferably one per community school
• Must establish agreed upon governance,
  supervision, MOUs for many thingswhy?
• Issues come up confidentiality,
  accountability,liability, union issues, use of
  facilities, volunteers, you name it

• Coordinator should be horizontal to a VP, hired
  by school, district, or better yet, a lead
  agency,
• Coordinator has accountabilities to all
  partners, including the school

  sharing of power, and which issues require
• o Simple informing
• o Advising
• o Influencing
• o Decision Making
• Ultimate authority
