  • Photosynthesis takes place in the plants leaves.
  • 1. Light is trapped by chlorophyll
  • 2. Energy from light starts the food-making
    process.
  • 3. The plants uses the water and the carbon
    dioxide from the air to make the food (sugar).

    to breathe.

  • You and your partner have just discovered a
    unique plant that you have never seen before! You
    will build a model of this plant with its special
    adaptations for its environment.
  • Draw a picture of your newly discovered plant.
  • Label the parts that have special features.
  • Give the newly discovered plant a name.
  • Write three paragraphs about your plant
    describing its environment, adaptations, and a
    detailed physical description.

  • That can store water
  • That stings animals that feed on it
  • That can survive when grazed on by cows and sheep
  • That can live when periodically covered with salt
    water
  • That can survive high winds.

  • That will drown insects that try to eat it
  • That can live at the edge of a glacier
  • That can grow in a crack in a concrete sidewalk.
  • That replaces itself as soon as it is picked by a
