At Alaric Court Moved in when I was seven Fairly
new houses, with friendly neighbours. An unusual
smell The scent of lemon metal Wafting in the
air. Playful kids play truth or dare. Ordinary
house Our house at number four. Had a small
yard And a clothes line out the back. And a
mulberry tree Hanging over the fence. Picked them
when in season Stained our clothes Vivid
purple. Ice cold tiles in winter. Tickled ten
toes, Cooling old air conditioner Relaxing us in
Summer. Outside in the jungle On a restless
