REQUIRED MATERIALS
  • Graphing Calculator, TI-83 plus
  • Ruler,Compass,Protractor
  • Pencils ( pencil is required on homework, tests,
    quizzes), Pen, highlighter
  • Graph Paper, notebook paper
  • 3 ring notebook, single or multi with 3 dividers
    (notes, homework, graded work)

Tardies
  • TARDIESStudents are expected to be prompt to
    class every day. Up to 5 minutes is a tardy.
  • 1st Tardy Verbal Warning to student
  • 2nd Tardy Written Warning to Parent and
    student
  • 3rd Tardy Detention
  • 4th Tardy Referral etc
  • 6 to 15 minutes late to class is Out of Area,
    automatic Saturday School.
  • Over 15 minutes to class is automatic skipping

Discipline, Dress Code, Attendance
  • Students are expected to be present. Please make
    sure you notify the school attendance office of
    any absences so they may be recorded as excused.
    Refer to Student handbook for rules on discipline
    and dress code enforced in this classroom.

Make up work and absences
  • The student has time to make up work for excused
    absences. Parents must call in to the school
    attendance office when a student is absent.
    Students are expected to make up missed tests and
    quizzes before school. If this is not possible,
    then they must be prepared to do the test or quiz
    in class within the amounted allowed time.
  • Unexcused absences are not allowed any extra
    time. Your work is due the day you return. You
    make-up a test or quiz the day you return.

Grading
  • A gt 90 B gt80 and lt90 C gt70 and lt80 D
    gt60 and lt70 F lt60
  • Students get the grade they earn.  
  • Tests 40
  • FCA and Quizzes 10
  • Class Homework Assignments 25
  • Projects/Alternative Assessments 25
  • All Assignments and Tests are always
    announced in advanced.
  • Homework Assignments are written on the board on
    Monday for the week. Students are expected to
    copy these into their agenda. They are also on my
    website.

Class expectations
  • Be prompt to class. See previous Tardy Policy.
  • Bring textbook, binder, calculator, and homework
    to class every day.
  • We start each class by reviewing the homework. So
    take out your home assignments when you arrive.
    Be prepared to correct homework. Be prepared to
    ask questions.
  • Raise your hand to answer a question or ask a
    question.
  • Only one student up at the pencil sharpener at a
    time.

Class Expectations and Rules
  • Go to the restroom during passing time. Only one
    student is allowed to go to the restroom at a
    time. You are only allowed 3 restroom passes per
    semester for emergency purposes.
  • Keep your desk area clean. Only bottled water
    (odorless, colorless) is allowed, nothing else to
    eat or drink.
  • We have a trash can in the room, so no papers
    should not be on the desk or floor when you
    leave.
  • Always sit in your assigned seats.
  • Respect everyone in this room.
  • You are here to learn.

To be successful in mathematics you must
  • Keep up with homework every nightyes every
    night.
  • Ask questions on problems you were unable to do.
  • Correct the problems as we review them in class.
  • I will collect homework and I expect it to be
    complete and corrected. You have the time to ask
    me questions in class, so no blanks or missing
    problems.
  • Study all the appropriate homework for the quiz
    or test.
  • Ask questions when you dont know or are not
    sure.

To be successful in mathematics
  • Take notes.
  • Volunteer to do problems on the board.
  • Ask for extra help when you need it. Extra Help
    Sessions are on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
    Morning from 800 AM to 900 AM by appointment.
    Do not just show up. You must have a pass from
    me to attend.
  • You are responsible for your success or failure,
    not anyone else.
