This is the flag for our country. It has 50
stars. One for each state in America. Illinois
was the 21st star added.

The liberty bell was rung for people to come hear
the first public reading of the Declaration of
Independence.
11The Statue of Liberty
The Statue of Liberty was given to the United
States from France. It is a symbol of democracy
and freedom.
12Uncle Sam
Uncle Sam has become a symbol for the U.S.
government and military. Uncle Sam has the same
initials as United States.
