Title: Starting Over Again
1Starting Over Again
- Reconciliation with the Past (Israel, Peter and
Job)
2Israel has sinned, and they have also
transgressed My covenant which I commanded them.
And they have even taken some of the things under
the ban and have both stolen an deceived.
Moreover, they have also put them among their own
things. (Joshua 711 NAS)
3- Reconciling with the Past
- Deal with Conflicts as They Occur
- Be angry, and yet do not sin do not let the sun
go down on your anger and do not give the devil
an opportunity. - (Ephesians 526, 27, NAS)
4- Reconciling with the Past
- Deal with Conflicts as They Occur
- Accept Gods Restoration
5And as Peter was below in the courtyard, one of
the servant-girls of the high priest came, and
seeing Peter warming himself, she looked at him,
and said, You too, were with Jesus the
Nazarene. But he denied it, saying, I neither
know nor understand what you are talking about.
And he went onto the porch. And the maid saw
him, and began
6once more to say to the by-standers, This is one
of them! But again he was denying it. And
after a little while the bystanders were again
saying to Peter, Surely you are one of them, for
you are a Galilean too. But he began to curse
and swear, I do not know this man you are
talking about!
7And immediately a cock crowed a second time.
And Peter remembered how Jesus had made the
remark to him, Before a cock crows twice, you
will deny Me three times. And he began to weep.
(Mark 1466-72, NAS)
8So when they had finished breakfast, Jesus said
to Simon Peter, Simon, son of John, do you love
Me more than these? He said to Him, Yes, Lord
You know that I love You. He said to him, Tend
my lambs. He said to him again a second time,
Simon, son of John, do you love me? He said to
Him, Yes, Lord, You know that I love You.
9He said to him, Shepherd My sheep. He said to
him the third time, Simon, son of John, do you
love Me? Peter was grieved because He said to
him the third time, Do you love Me And he said
to Him, Lord, You know all things You know that
I love You. Jesus said to him, Tend my sheep
(John 2115-17, NAS)
10 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving
ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we
confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to
forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness. (I John 18, 9, NAS)
11- Reconciling with the Past
- Deal with Conflicts as They Occur
- Accept Gods Restoration
- Extend Gods Grace to Others
12- Reconciling with the Past
- Deal with Conflicts as They Occur
- Accept Gods Restoration
- Extend Gods Grace to Others
- And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job when he
prayed for his friends, and the Lord increased
all that Job had twofold. (Job 4210, NAS)
13Now all these things are from God, who reconciled
us to Himself through Christ, and gave us the
ministry of reconciliation, namely, that God was
in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, not
counting their trespasses against them, and He
has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
14Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as
though God were entreating through us we beg you
on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. He
made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf,
that we might become the righteousness of God in
Him. (2 Corinthians 518-21, NAS)
