COWARDLY LION
The Lion is supposed to be the king of beast.
However, for the Cowardly Lion, he doesnt think
he is. All of his life when people come across
him he just roared and they ran away. He didnt
really feel like he was the king of beasts. So
when the Dorothy, the Scarecrow, and the Tin
Woodman came along. He jumped out and scared
them, and knocked the Scarecrow over. He also
tried to bite Toto! Dorothy came up to him and
slapped him on the nose. He started to cry, he
wouldnt ever try to hurt a little dog. He was
just trying to find courage deep down in him. So
Dorothy asked if he would like to come along to
Oz with them. The Cowardly Lion joined the
journey. On the way, the reached they came
across problems. The Scarecrow thought of a way
out, but the Lion had to perform it. They came
across a big ditch, and the Lion had to jump over
it with one person on his back at a time. He
safely got everyone across. When they arrived at
Oz, they met individually. They all got the same
message. Kill the Witch of the West. The Lion
scared roared and scared away all the Winkies
trying to drive them away. Although the Winged
Monkey captured them. Dorothy was taken back to
the castle, and so was the Lion. The Lion
refused to be a horse for the Witch, she wouldnt
feed him. Dorothy came to feed him secretly at
night, while they planned an escape and to
rescue the Tin Woodman, and the Scarecrow. Then
Dorothy melted the Witch of the West, and they
were free. They went back to Oz, to receive their
gifts. The Lion finally got his courage he just
drank a green liquid and he felt full of courage.
But before he drank the liquid, he had more
courage than he could ever imagine. Now that he
was full of courage he could do more than he
could before. He could take on any beast,
creature, he was unbeatable. The Lion thought he
didnt have something, but really he did have it.
You think you need something, but you dont
really need it.

IN THE END

In the end, Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Lion, and
the Tin Woodman went to the South. There Glenda
could help Dorothy get back to Kansas again.
Glenda said that Dorothy had the power to go home
all along. The power of the silver shoes could
take Dorothy anywhere. Along Dorothys journey
she changed more as a character, she learned that
even if your in a magical land, with all sorts of
wonderful stuff. There is no place like home.

HOW CHANGE RELATES TO ME

• My parents have been divorced for three years,
  and that has big a effect in my life. Now my mom
  is getting re-married so now I have to go through
  another change. At first when this big change in
  my life started to happen I didnt know what was
  going on, I just lived my life, but I hardly ever
  saw my dad. Finally, my sister told me what was
  happening. I was disappointed at first, but then
  I saw the good sides I got two of everything
  two TV's, two rooms, two vacations. Every other
  weekend I go to my dads house and I get to see
  him. Im glad I still have two great parents
  that love me and can still get along. I know Im
  not the only one that had this big change in
  their life.
