  • Doctors / Dentists try to get student to school
    before OR after appointment

  • KS4 Two years. Everything they do now goes
    towards their GCSEs

PUNCTUALITY
  • School starts 8.40
  • Lateness goes on record to colleges / work
    placements
  • Must be on time to ALL lessons

BULLYING
  • Persistent and calculated Physical or verbal
    abuse
  • Taken VERY seriously School has anti-bullying
    policy
  • NOT BULLYING one off name calling, fight,
    falling out with friends. (All of these are dealt
    with differently from bullying)

HOW CAN YOU HELP?Bullying!
  • Encourage child to talk to tutor or HOY
  • Contact the school TUTOR, PA or HOY
  • Encourage child to record any issues
  • Give the school time to deal with the situation
    and inform you of what has / will be done

  • Should have increased as result of parental
    feedback
  • Failure to hand in homework is now a C3

  • Create a quiet, clean work space
  • Look at homework as it is finished
  • Support school by reinforcing the importance of
    homework especially at KS4

  • Many subjects have coursework that begins in year
    10 and counts towards the final GCSE grade
  • Students will be given deadlines Essential that
    students meet these dealines and keep up to date
    with work
  • Encourage students to speak to their teachers
    about any problems after lessons or at the end of
    the day

  • KEY WORD PREPARATION
  • Organise time effectively and realistically
  • Set realistic and measurable targets
  • Organise resources and work space
  • Write, check and re-write each draft of
    coursework
  • Create revision cards with key information
  • Work with other people to test knowledge

  • 22nd November Biology 1 and Chemistry 1 module
    exams (25 of the GCSE)
  • 5TH March Physics 1 and Biology 2 (25 of the
    GCSE)
  • 23RD June Chemistry 2 and Physics 2 (25 of the
    GCSE) Practical skills exam (July exact date
    to be confirmed).  
  • Revision guides are available from the Science
    prep room at a cost of 3.00.
