evaluating

• Autumn term HODs carry out regular work scrutiny
  as part of completing and updating their SEF
• All year round All internal and external reviews
  include a summary report on AFL
• Summer term HODs self-evaluate prior to audit
• One day audit by LA consultants interviews of
  all HODs and student panels
• Progress report on AFL at CCC

Year Two Autumn 2006

• Revisit AFL during September INSET
• Share recommendations of LA report and new whole
  school action plan with HODs
• HODs update SEF and dept action plans to include
  new AFL priorities
• HODs buddied up to share good practice/help each
  other progress
• New staff training programme as part of CPD offer
• Support for targeted departments

Year Two 2006-2007 planned activities

• All internal and external reviews to generate a
  separate report on AFL based on lesson
  observations, student panel and work scrutiny
• HODs to self-evaluate using OFSTED inspections
  skills training
• One day audit to be repeated in Summer 2007 using
  LA consultants

Key elements of the MRE system

• Share outcomes of AFL audit every September
• Work through HODs using the school
  self-evaluation cycle
• Repeat and adapt the yearly training cycle to
  include audit recommendations
• Ensure all reviews (WS and dept) report on AFL
  separately
• Keep annual formal one day audit in Summer term
  using LA consultants
