I. The situation of traffic accidents

• 2001-2006 118.609 road traffic accidents. 68.695
  died, 120.376 injured.
• Children from 0 to 9 years old have traffic
  accidents while walking.
• Children from 10 to 14 years old have traffic
  accidents while riding bikes.

II. The reasons for traffic accidents among
children

• Directly control or take part in the traffic
  violate traffic laws, disobey the traffic guides
• Indirectly control or take part in the traffic
  taking lifts from others

III. The necessity of the project Family and
traffic safety

• The implementing of the project is necessary due
  to the following reasons
• The number of vehicles has increased fast while
  the childrens and peoples awareness is still
  limited.
• The infrastructure is unable to support the
  current traffic flow.
• Traffic accident is on the rise.
• Most people are not equipped with knowledge of
  first aids to help the victims when the accident
  happens

Contents of the project

• Organize workshops to disseminate knowledge on
  traffic, visually and lively first aid for
  children at their schools.
• Guide the children to practice with practical
  circumstances..
• Launch the Competition Family and traffic
  safety with the participation of the parents.
• Invest education-assisting equipment at schools.

V. Finance for building and implementing the
project

• The project is financed by the award of Vietnam
  Creation Day Contest and SJ Vietnam.

VI. Expected results

• Increase childrens and peoples awareness when
  taking part in traffic activities.
• Minimize the number of traffic accidents to
  children and people.
• Make this a good precedent for future traffic
  projects.

VII. Creativity and spreading capacity

• Creative in communicating the knowledge (lively
  lessons with visual aids) with real
  circumstances.
• Creative in joining the schools, parents and
  students in the projects.
• Creative in combining traffic safety with first
  aid knowledge to minimize the consequences of
  both traffic accidents and children injuries.
• Creative in organizing, implementing the projects
  to ensure their continuity and expansibility
  thanks to the firm foundation of human resources
  and teaching tools.
