What is the Academic Support Center ?

• The ASC is a one-stop center where students can
  access a number of free services designed to help
  them succeed in their courses
• The ASC is where you will find friendly and
  highly trained staff who will connect you with
  the services you need to succeed
• And when all else fails, the ASC is the place
  where you can go for the answers to any questions
  you may have..if we dont have the answer, we
  will find it! The buck stops here!

How can the ASC help you?
Students may visit the ASC to develop learning
skills that will improve their efficiency and
effectiveness in the classroom.
Our support staff will help students accomplish
their goals by connecting them with all campus
programs, services, personnel, and materials.
This enables students to learn more in less time
with greater ease and confidence.

What is AED 90.7?
AED 90.7 is a zero unit, open/entry-open/exit
course that simply allows access to the ASC
services for free!

• Why do I have to register for AED 90.7?
• Without this class in your schedule, you would
  be unable to utilize services in the ASC and
  you dont even have to worry about
  enrolling.visit the ASC desk and our staff can
  take care of enrollment for you!

• Does it cost me anything?
• AED 90.7 is a free, zero-unit ,
  open/entry-open/exit course, and will not affect
  your GPA. Once the semester has concluded, the
  class will no longer appear on your transcript.

• Why is there a log-in system?
• The ACS utilizes the log-in system to keep
  track of how many students are using our
  services, which enables us to obtain funding to
  provide free services.

Tutorial Services
Walk-in Tutoring
The ASC offers walk-in tutoring for students
enrolled in Math and English courses. Students
not enrolled in an English course may also
utilize the English walk-in tutoring to have any
college paper critiqued.

Tutorial ServicesOther Disciplines
The ASC offers tutoring in all subjects offered
at Cerritos College Simply visit the ASC
Information Desk and fill out a Request for
Academic Support. A tutor will be recruited and
a tutoring session will be scheduled in a small
group setting at pre-scheduled times throughout
the week. Tutoring already scheduled this
semester includes Biology, Chemistry, Physics,
Spanish and many more to come!

The Learning Style Inventory (LSI) evaluates the
way you learn and how you deal with ideas and
day-to-day situations in your life. We all have a
sense that people learn in different ways, but
this inventory will help you appreciate what
learning style can mean to you. It will help

CBEST Preparation
Passing the CBEST exam is essential to those
interested in a career in teaching. CBEST is
designed to be challenging, but not impossible.
The ASC offers a variety of instructional options
to assist you in learning skills and strategies
necessary to pass the CBEST exam.
