    the verb.

Verbos reflexivos
  • Spanish also has reflexive verbs, and it uses
    them often.
  • The reflexive verbs are easy to identify because
they all have the pronoun SE attached.

Verbos reflexivos
  • bañarse to bathe
  • afeitarse to shave
  • levantarse to get up
  • cepillarse to brush

10
Verbos reflexivos
  • Mariana baña al perro.
  • Mariana se baña.
  • What is the difference?

11
Verbos reflexivos
  • With these verbs, we must use reflexive pronouns.
  • If she, he, it, you, they are receiving the
    action, then we use SE.

12
Verbos reflexivos
  • If it is me receiving the action, we use ME
  • If it is you (familiar) receiving the action, we
    use TE
  • If it is us receiving the action, we use NOS

13
Verbos reflexivos
  • yo me myself me baño
  • tú te yourself te bañas
  • él himself
  • ella se herself se baña
  • usted yourself

19
Verbos reflexivos
  • When we give reflexive verbs action, the pronoun
comes in FRONT of the verb.
  • When we use another verb with the reflexive, the
    pronoun is ATTACHED.

20
Verbos reflexivos
  • Examples
  • Adela se baña.
  • Adela va a bañarse.

21
Verbos reflexivos
  • To make the reflexive negative, NO is placed
    before the PRONOUN.
  • No te lavas los manos.
  • I dont wash my hands.

22
Verbos reflexivos
  • Since a lot of these verbs talk about your
routine, we will use the parts of the body and
    clothing.
  • When we refer to the body and to clothing, we
will use the article, and not the possessive
    adjective.

23
Verbos reflexivos
  • Por ejemplo
  • In English, we say I wash MY hands.
  • In Spanish, it would be Me lavo los manos.

24
