What is Speech Recognition?

• Wikipedia defines Speech recognition as
  automatic speech recognition, computer speech
  recognition or as Voice Recognition, is the
  process of converting a speech signal to a
  sequence of words, by means of an algorithm
  implemented as a computer program.

Tips for using speech recognition software
successfully

• Say each word, command and punctuation mark
  clearly.
• Dont speak too fast, but dont speak too slow
  either.
• Dont speak too softly, but dont shout either
• Speak in a normal tone of voice. Your soft ware
  work best when you speak naturally.
