Course Content

• We will focus the year on Algebra and
  Trigonometry that will help students prepare for
  Calculus, Statistics, College Math course, SATs,
  College Entrance Exams
• Some topics that will be covered are
• The Trigonometric Functions
• Law of Sines and Cosines
• Graphs, Functions, Symmetry and Transformations
• Exponential and Logarithmic Functions
• Trig Identities, Inverse Functions, and Equations
• Conic Sections

Grading

• Grading is done on a point system, where
  everything they do is given a point value. To
  calculate the grade it is total points earned
  divided by total possible points.
• They are graded on
• Class work
• Homework
• Tests/Quizzes
• Notebooks
• Projects
• Class Participation
• I email home progress reports every Friday.

Daily Expectations

• Students are expected to
• Be on time!
• Be prepared with something to write with, their
  homework done, their calculator, their notebook,
  and their book.
• Be respectful of others and the learning process.
• Be attentive and ready to learn and TRY THEIR
  BEST!
• Work on class work independently, in groups, and
  present to class.

Class work / Homework

• Students will have homework almost every night.
• Homework needs to be completed for the beginning
  of class.
• Both homework and class work are graded on effort
  not correctness.
• Students are expected to ask questions and seek
  help if they do not understand class work or
  homework.

Tests Quizzes and Projects

• For each unit students will be given AT LEAST 1
  test quiz or project, for most units more than 1
  will be given.
• Notice will be given on all Tests and Projects
  Pop quizzes are sometimes given.
• Projects are given with a rubric and students
  will self grade before I grade it to help them
  see what the expectations are.
• The point value of a test, quiz, or project is
  determined by its length, difficulty, and the
  length of time spent on the material in class.

Make up work/ Late work

• If a student is absent it is THEIR responsibility
  to find what they missed and complete it.
• The work due the day they were out is to be
  turned in the day they return.
• Late work is accepted for partial credit.

Extra Help

• I am available for extra help usually any day but
  Tuesday.
• If a student would like to come in early or stay
  after they should check with me first.
• The Math Lab is available during every block
  where a math teacher can help them during a study
  hall.
