2The first major project was the construction of a
garden area for pupils. A lot of reclaimed
materials were used. Pupils learned new skills
including dry stone walling.

9In the spring of 2006 a new pond was made and in
the summer sixth form students built a new
seating area. This project was supported by a
Green Partnership Award from Lancashire County
Council.

14In the autumn term 2006 further work was done to
provide seating and a new plantation of trees was
established, once a fence had been built to keep
out sheep. This work was supported by a Community
Champions Grant.

21Early in 2007 pupils started to make a vegetable
garden alongside the Clark Building. This work
continues. Further work will be carried out by
sixth formers at the end of the summer term, with
support from the PTA.

30In spring 2006 we carried out two major
tree-planting projects for local landowners. In
the autumn Year 10 pupils worked on a variety of
community projects.
