  for an individual. Typically updated daily, blogs
  often reflect the personality of the author.

The history of blogging

• The modern blog evolved from the online diary.
• By 2001, blogging was enough of a phenomenon
  that how-to manuals began to appear, primarily
  focusing on technique.
• It is estimated that blogging will peak in 2007,
  leveling off when the number of writers who
  maintain a personal website reaches 100 million.

• Many blogs provide commentary or news on a
  particular subject such as food, politics, or
  local news others function as more personal
  online diaries.

  consequences.

• Employees who write about aspects of their place

  face loss of employment or other adverse

Tips for blogging

• Never offer any personal information
• Never post inappropriate pictures
• Assume what you publish on the Web is permanent.
• Anyone on the Internet can easily print out a
  blog or save it to a computer.
• Use blogging provider sites with clearly stated
  terms of use
• Make sure there is password protection
• Keep blogs positive and don't use them for
  slander or to attack others.
