Purpose of video

• Examine the realities of classroom management
  within a third grade classroom
• At least we got inside an actual classroom
• What do you observe?

Methods

• Visit classroom and interview teacher
• (1) classroom visit to see an actual class
• (2) interview teacher about classroom management
• (3) visit class again for discussion
• (4) have teacher view 2 and comment

What did we learn?

• This was a very well managed class
• But even in a well managed class there are clues
  about classroom management
• What do you do with kids who dont seem to be
  paying attention and who are not engaged
• What do you do with talking
• Would like to do something more formal
• That will take more approval from teacher and
  students
