2CLIMATE CHANGE CAMPAIGN
The impact of climate change on natural fauna
(animals) in Germany
By Jörn Asseburg and Sebastian Kant
3In the last years the worldwide climate has
changed rapidly.
You can see the consequences of the warming in
many
different parts of your natural environment. In
this
presentation you can get some information about
the
impact on Germanys fauna.
4Because of the hot and dry summers, many forest
fires happen.
Therefore animals have to die or loose their
homes in the fire.
5Furthermore the longer summer
makes migratori birds (Zugvögel)
fly in the south later and come
back earlier to their broot places.
6For Instance you can see the butterlflies flying
in the early
springtime.
7Amphibians like frogs and toads (Kröten) decide
to shorten
their hibernation (Winterschlaf).
8Moreover animals from southern europe settle to
Germany.
For example the Delta-Lehmwespe and the
Feuerlibelle
was seen in our latitudes (Breiten (geograph))
recently.
9Additionally the high air temperature affects the
temperature of
the North- and Baltic-Sea and also the lakes and
rivers. Thats
why some fish-species are forced to leave. Others
are able to
immigrate, because they find perfect living
conditions now.
10Furthermore the water temperature controls the
gender of the
fish eggs. So the warm temperature developes more
male
fishes and reduces their reproduction.
11Algae (Algen) grow fast and steal the nutrients
(Nährstoffe)
of the plants. The material of the dead plants
produces a lot
of carbon-dioxide, that kills the fishes.
12In conclusion you can see many different impacts
of climate
change in Germanys fauna, if you look precisely.
Its weird.
Our pristne species will leave or die out more
and more and
foreign species will settle down and change our
environment.
