AIMS of CA training

• Remove the tinted glasses
• Develop sensitivity to the ways in which cultural
  differences may affect your interactions with
  International Students
• To improve working relationships between students
  and staff
• To deal with growing numbers of International
  Students
• To make the students feel valued and important
• To provide an efficient and effective service to
  non native speakers
• To promote good practice across the University

Stereotyping

• Beware of stereotyping individuals behaviour
  may be outside statistical range
• Culture stereotype is the application of a
  generalisation to every individual in a culture
  group or to generalise from experience with only
  a few people from the group. Stereotypes can be
  infused with emotions
