Project objectives
  • To prepare a course material guided by experts in
    medical education and research methodology.
  • To construct a local training center with all
    course equipment available

Dissemination
  • Web site was designed (www.zu.edu.eg) to
    disseminate the project progress. Everybody has
    free access to the site.
  • Newsletters were designed. The first, second and
    third issues were distributed and published on
    web site to disseminate the project progress.
  • A workshop was organized during the facultys
    annual congress (22-25 November 2004).

Summary of Project Progress for the First year
  • An internal search was performed to list the
    qualified educators in Faculty of Medicine,
    Zagazig University to select the instructors.
  • Moreover, an external search for medical
    educators in similar education centers in Suez
    Canal and Cairo Universities, was carried out.
  • The management team selected 4 qualified
    instructors to carry out the expected role in the
    project.

  • Four main courses were identified (teaching
    skills, Scientific writing, research methodology
    and exam evaluation) and selected to be the core
    of Zagazig Education center curriculum.
  • The 4 qualified experts were asked to give the
    outlines of their courses and after verification,
    they had been asked to prepare the course
    contents.
  • The center was equipped with all necessary
    equipment
  • Two TOT instructor courses were carried out to
    select 35 candidate instructors.
  • Two provider courses were organized and attended
    by 187 staff members.
