perfect match for volunteers who can commit to
the same time, day or activity from week to week. - Support your volunteers want to help and need
your help as well through training and consistent
communication.

- AmeriCorps is a program designed to meet the
needs of citizens by providing intense,
result-driven service to meet education,
environmental, public safety and other pressing

- AmeriCorps members earn an education award of up
to 4,725 that can be used to pay back student
loans, return to school or attend trade schools.
- Since 1994 there have been 24,000 Texas residents
that have served in AmeriCorps with education
awards totaling 73,000,000. - Living Stipend is approximately 1,000 per month

- Kids Days students work on a 8 to 10 week
curriculum covering math, science or the arts
that connects student learning to their
surrounding communities and career exploration. - Sustainability Efforts in a time of decreasing

- Learn and Serve America - provides grants to
schools, colleges, and nonprofit groups to
support efforts to engage more than 48,000 Texas
students in community service that is linked to
academic achievement and the development of civic
skills. - In addition to providing grants, Learn and Serve
America serves as a resource on service-learning
to teachers, faculty members, schools and

- AmeriCorps VISTA VISTAs provide coordination
and planning to non-profit organizations. - VISTA members serve for 12 months and only serve
in a full-time capacity. - VISTA members are often seen as an extension of
professional staff.

- Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)
volunteers conduct safety patrols for local
police departments, participate in environmental
projects, tutor and mentor youth, respond to
natural disasters, and provide other services
through more than 3,100 groups across Texas.
