• Purpose
• The Arizona Latin-American Medical Association
  was established May 29, 1993, by Latino
  physicians banding together to advocate quality
  (culturally competent), affordable, accessible
  health care for all Arizona residents.
• Goals
• Establish a health care service system
  emphasizing wellness/prevention strategies
  utilizing public-private partnerships, volunteers
  and innovation to provide health care services to
  uninsured residents.
• Increase participation of Arizona Latino youth in
  higher education and health careers.
• Strengthen the Latino health professionals
  network utilizing varied approaches including
  health policy and scientific meetings,
  telemedicine technology, health fairs and social
  events.
• Nurture participation, collaboration and
  volunteerism using Amigos de ALMA as a catalyst
  to energize the community to support the ALMA
  purpose/mission.
