Directive 2002/91/EC

• Energy performance of buildings
• Promote the energy efficiency in the buildings
  and houses with cost-effective techniques keeping
  into account the local and weather conditions
  inside and outside the building.

Directive 2002/91/EC

• The four key points of the Directive are
• a common methodology for calculating the
  integrated energy performance of buildings
• minimum standards on the energy performance of
  new buildings and existing buildings that are
  subject to major renovation
• systems for the energy certification of new and
  existing buildings and, for public buildings,
  prominent display of this certification and other
  relevant information. Certificates must be less
  than five years old
• regular inspection of boilers and central
  air-conditioning systems in buildings and in
  addition an assessment of heating installations
  in which the boilers are more than 15 years old.

  the development, the enhancement and the
  integration of renewable energy sources.

Energy Performance Certificate

• Energy Performance Certificate presents the
  energy efficiency of dwellings on a scale of A-G

The most efficient homes - which should have the
lowest fuel bills - are in band A
The certificate uses the same scale to define
the impact a home has on the environment
Better-rated homes should have less impact
through carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions
