Our Mission
Sycolin Creek Elementary School believes ... in
a partnership between home, school and community,
working together to provide a safe and supportive
environment for learning ... that an emotionally
and intellectually safe environment is necessary
to encourage risk taking with ideas, thoughts,
and opinions ... in creating authentic and
relevant opportunities for learning that result
in deeper understanding and appreciation of the
world ...that open-mindedness is valued and
diversity celebrated ...in encouraging healthy
lifestyles that promote physical activity with an
emphasis on responsible decision making ...in
developing and modeling the character traits for
effective citizenship and social
responsibility. ... in recognizing and
supporting the individual needs, interests, and
common goals of life-long learners.
Our Vision
Sycolin Creek Elementary will provide an
environment in which students needs are met and
their maximum potential is nurtured. All students
will learn to think critically and creatively,
work cooperatively, and communicate effectively.
Our school will prepare all students for full
participation in our diverse and integrated
society.
