is currently in the room, and they can see you.

chat programs is MIRC.

30CHAT ROOM WARNINGS
31 Most chat programs have what is called private
chat or instant message capability. This
allows two individuals to chat with one another
in private. To an individual who is unaware of
the dangers of private chats, this can be the
most dangerous area on the internet.
32MIRC HAS DCC (Direct Client Communications)
33In AOL you can also set up a private chat room,
or instant messaging.
34As in e-mail, there is the capability to attach
and send files, such as images, movies and sounds
to chat messages, which creates an additional
danger of receiving inappropriate material, even
from individuals you know.
35Downloading Images
IMAGES CONTAINING CHILD PORNOGRAPHY ARE
ILLEGAL, TO OWN, POSSESS, STORE OR TRANSMIT TO
OTHERS.
36Not everyone in chat rooms are who they say they
are. Pedophiles are known to use chat rooms to
find their victims. Chat rooms may give
individuals a false sense of security and
privacy. You dont have to give personal
information to individuals online in order to be
in danger
