  • The Highest court of the Land
  • Deals with cases that began in the inferior
    courts
  • Only review 1-2 of appeals
  • Hears appeals at its own discretion
  • This Is because of a change in law by congress

Writ of Certiorari
  • The Ability of the supreme Court to decide which
    cases it will Review
  • Four Judges must agree to view the case for it to
    be scheduled
  • Usually only considers cases in which one of
    these two is true
  • Two of more federal courts have decided the same
    issue in different ways
  • The Highest court of the state has held a federal
    or state law unconstitutional or has upheld a law
    that is claimed unconstitutional
