An Introduction to Solar Magnetism
The majority of remaining problems in solar
physics are associated with the Sun's own
magnetic field. In particular, with the
generation, transport, and death of magnetic
fields on various spatial and temporal scales and
in various regions of the Sun. I will present an
introduction to solar magnetism which highlights
these problems and presents methods used to
solve them.

Thermal fronts in coronal loops
Understanding the relationship between turbulent
plasma dynamics and observed emission from solar
flares can shed light on many problems in solar
physics. A novel numerical model of thermal
fronts in coronal loops is presented.
The postgraduate seminar series is a series of
informal talks run by postgraduates for
postgraduates. All postgraduates are welcome and
refreshments are always provided!
