4SCIB Background
- Capital restructuring process through capital
reductions and capital injections by FIDF - SCIB share trading was suspended due to the
inability to meet SETs requirements regarding
par value and minority share distribution - SCIB established SCIB Asset Management
Corporation (SCIB AMC) - SCIB sold SCIB AMC to FIDF and changed its name
to Phetchaburi Asset Management Corporation
(PAM) - SCIB transferred its NPLs to PAM in exchange for
FIDF-guaranteed AMC Notes - Bangkok Metropolitan Bank Plc. (BMB)
transferred its assets and liabilities to SCIB
which allowed SCIB to become the fifth largest
bank in Thailand - Installed a new professional management team and
undergo streamlining and restructuring of its
operations - Implemented risk management committee policy
- Integration process between SCIB and BMB has been
completed and the Core Banking System has been
implemented

27No Further Risks from NPLs Transferred to PAM
- The value of NPLs transfer equals to the net book
value after deduction of appropriate allowance
for doubtful accounts of loans - SCIB receives AMC notes in exchange for NPLs
transfer - SCIB does not have to record additional gain/loss
from the NPL already transferred to PAM - SCIB receives the management fee from PAM for
managing such NPL accounts
