1. The normal rule is to add s to the base form
of the verb.

1. The normal rule is to add ing to the base
form of the verb.

2. Verbs that end in ONE e lose the e before
ing.
smoking coming hoping

3. But the verb that end in ee dont lose
anything before the ing ending.
agreeing seeing
4. In verbs in one syllable, with one vowel and
one consonant, the consonant is doubled.
stopping travelling running
planning beginning
5. But if the final consonant is y or w it is
not doubled

1. The normal rule is to add ed to the base form

2.When the verb ends in e, just add d.

3. If the verb has only one syllable, with one
written vowel one written consonant, the
consonant is doubled.

4. The consonant is not doubled if it is y or w.

5. In most two-syllable verbs, the end consonant
is doubled if the stress is on the second
syllable.
