  firelock muskets.

  for food and for fur.

• The flintlock musket was made from walnut and
  brass.

How did it assist the fur trade?

• Assisted the fur trade by killing the animals to
  take their fur.
• By giving the settlers a cheap and efficient
  musket.

• The flintlock musket was invented in 1612 by a
  French man named Marin le Bourgeoys in Normandy.
