Analysis by Gender
  • The highest number in all areas are aged 17
  • The majority are male in all areas
  • Dudley has the smallest male majority of the 4
    Black Country areas
  • Sandwell and Wolverhampton have the largest male
    majorities

Vulnerable Groups
  • In all areas, LDD young people have the highest
    proportion of the Active NEET group of the 4
    vulnerable groups.
  • Young offenders have the second highest
    proportion of the NEET group in all areas.

Duration of Time in Active NEET Group
  • Very mixed pattern of duration of time that
    vulnerable groups are NEET between the 4 areas.
  • Not all vulnerable groups have an above average
    for those unemployed over 6 or 12 months.
  • Of the vulnerable groups, in Dudley Walsall In
    Care/Care Leavers have highest unemployed for
    over 6 months.
  • In Sandwell LDD young people, and in
    Wolverhampton, young offenders have highest
    unemployed over 6 months.

NEET Hotspots
  • In Dudley,DY2 and DY1 have the highest number of
    BME NEETs and highest concentrations of
    vulnerable groups who are NEET.
  • In Sandwell, B69 has highest raw no. and of BME
    NEETs and the largest concentration of Teenage
    Parents. DY4 has the highest concentration of LDD
    and Young Offenders.

  • In Walsall, WS2 and WS1 have above average
    representation of BME young people who are NEET.
  • In Wolverhampton, WV10 has the highest raw number
    of BME NEET young people, and WV1 has the highest
    of BME young people who are NEET. WV10 also has
    the highest concentrations of all vulnerable
    groups.
