History

• WikiWikiWeb - the first site to be called a wiki
  by Ward Cunningham in 1994. It was named by
  Cunningham, for Wiki Wiki, a reduplication of
  wiki, a Hawaiian-language word for fast or quick.

• A wiki is a website designed to allow multiple
  authors to add, remove, and edit content. The
  multiple author capability of wikis makes them
  effective tools for mass collaborative authoring.
