- Four Train the Trainer sessions one on each of
the main Hospital sites - Plus extra sessions of those areas unable to
attend - Staff attending were assessed using scenarios

- Cascade Approach to be used on ward under the
supervision of the Clinical Educator for each
ward area. - With the Transfusion Practitioner as a source of

always possible due to shift changes. Some areas
do not carry out Transfusions frequently - Scenarios

assessment - Approx 350 mainly nursing staff have completed
training and assessment since beginning of
November - Staff that are new to Trust but have completed
assessment in another Trust - Is a 3 yearly update sufficient for staff who do
not carry out Transfusions frequently?? -
