Title: Where Are Your Ties
1Where Are Your Ties?
2Where Are Your Ties?
It is easy to become tied emotionally,
physically, or spiritually. We can be tied to
people or possessions. The scriptures warn us
that we can even become tied to this world.
Matthew 619-21
3Matthew 619-21 "Do not lay up for yourselves
treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy
and where thieves break in and steal but lay up
for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither
moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not
break in and steal. For where your treasure is,
there your heart will be also. (NKJV)

Matthew 619-21
As Gods people we are called to live in this
hostile world without being tied to it. John
1714-19
5John 1714-19 I have given them Your word and
the world has hated them because they are not of
the world, just as I am not of the world. I do
not pray that You should take them out of the
world, but that You should keep them from the
evil one. They are not of the world, just as I
am not of the world. Sanctify them by Your
truth. Your word is truth. As You sent Me into
the world, I also have sent them into the world.
And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they
also may be sanctified by the truth. (NKJV)

ways 1 John 215-17
7Where Are Your Ties?
1. Sensual Desire and Gratification The Lust of
the Flesh.
We live in a world gone crazy over physical
gratification. Lustful extremes are a vile
corruption of what is pure! James 113-15
8James 113-15 Let no one say when he is tempted,
"I am tempted by God" for God cannot be tempted
by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But
each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his
own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has
conceived, it gives birth to sin and sin, when
it is full-grown, brings forth death. (NKJV)

3. Self-Satisfaction The Pride of Life.
It is so easy to become so consumed with
ourselves that we forget our need for God.
1 Corinthians 318-21
111 Corinthians 318-21 Let no one deceive himself.
If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age,
let him become a fool that he may become wise.
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with
God. For it is written, "He catches the wise in
their own craftiness" and again, "The Lord knows
the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile."
Therefore let no one boast in men (NKJV)
