(postgrad)
- Aims at creating capacity in IWRM at the
post-graduate levels (training the trainers) - Postgraduate degree/diploma Program
- 2 candidates/country/year starting in Y2 up to
Y4 - countries with less capacity (5) will send an
additional candidate every year women candidates
to be sought. - candidates will follow degrees in regional
universities and institutions that already have
postgraduate programs in water policy and
management and are willing to introduce in their
curricula courses on IWRM - candidates should have a bachelors and admission
to a postgraduate program, and apply to the
Training Fellowship Fund, administered by the PMU
12Comp. 2 Human Resources (cont.) Development

Capacity Building Network on River Eng. is a good
start in this direction - The developed modules and material will be
subject to peer reviewers to ensure quality and
relevance, and - The curricula will have to go through
certification and accreditation .
16Comp. 3 Promoting Basin Interchange
- This component directly addresses the major gap
there is little interaction among water
professionals in the countries. It includes four
main areas - Establishing and operating the Nile Net at
country and basin levels - Each country will nominate National ATP
Coordinator and Lead Institution Will be the
backbone to the project - Together, the NFIs will form the Nile Net, a
network of training institutions - Will work closely with the Project Management
Unit (PMU) in Cairo in ATP activities in the
countries - At country level - A National Training Committee
consisting of the National ATP Coordinator, the
Training Institution and one other training
center will be formed to plan ATP activities
17Comp. 3 Promoting Basin Interchange
- Support to National ATP Coordinators and National
Lead Institutions includes - computers and related communication equipment for
them to interact with one another, and with the
PMU - support to organize national meetings and
workshops to assist in efforts to increase
inclusiveness in the Applied Training Project at
the national level, and to include other water
training centers in the country - allows contracting some expertise and consultants
to assist them in the formulation, management and
implementation of the programs.
18Comp. 3 Promoting Basin Interchange

two or more basin institutions collaborate
(primarily) on activities related to development
of teaching material - It could also support on-the-job learning through
formal study visit of a water professional from
one country to another - Managed by a Fund Committee to be set up by the
PSC, based on agreed criteria (SVP Small Draw
down Facility Funds). - Experiences to be shared within the Nile Basin.
20Comp. 3 Promoting (cont.) Basin
Interchange
