• Implementation started by total ban on
  advertising in September 2005

Taxes and Price

• All taxes 75 per pack
• Excise tax rising once a year by 2008
• EU minimum level (foreseen already for July

Main objectives of the Coalition

• Reduce the number of smokers in Slovenia,
  especially among young people
• Raise awarreness about harmful effect of smoking
  especially second hand smoking
• Including workshops on the dangers of smoking in
  primary and secondary schools
• Lobbing for complete Ban of smoking in the
  workplace including bars and restaurants
• The role and influence of civil society on
  political decision regarding the tobacco
  legislation

• Public awareness campaigns
• Health promotion festival Non smoking festival
• Expert consulting in health centers and
  cooperation with Slovenian Ministry of Health
• Project and activities to support total
  prohibition of smoking in workplaces

• PRESENT ACTIVITIES (2006/2007)
• Public awareness campaign on second hand smoking
• Festival on May 31
• Project and activities to decrease the tobacco
  abuse among young people in Slovenia
• Research of presence and influence of tobacco in
  media (film, television, etc.)
