Key Points
  • Key Point 1- Old Business. A few old business
    items remain open.
  • Key Point 2- Definitions Guidance. Need to
follow formal guidance on crafting definitions.
  • Key Point 3- Future Schedule. EDCS WD 5 release
    expected mid-May, 2001

4
Key Point 1 Old Business
  • Specific SISO product to be created remains
unknown given the recommendations of the study on
software products. Primary focus of PDG
    remains the EDCS Standard evolution.
  • Update of 00F-SIW-071. a report will be
generated and published on the reflector for use
as a EDCS tutorial and guide for reviewers.
  • Coordination with RPR FOM group. Recently agreed
LM will incorporate appropriate portions of EBV
    into the EDCS.

5
Key Point 2 Formal Guidance
  • The most recent PDG comments focused on providing
definitions for EDCS codes. Only informal
guidance on the structure of definitions required
    for ISO compliance existed.
  • There now exists more complete set of
instructions on content and format of definitions
as a result of the ISO February 2001 meeting.
This will be posted to the EDCS reflector.

6
Key Point 3 Future EDCS Schedule
  • Two options available for submission of PDG
comments. SISO now has Cat C Liaison status to
SC24 and may submit directly or may continues to
    submit via ANSI H3.9.
  • Key dates for next review will be posted to the
EDCS reflector as they become available. The
date and site for the next PDG meeting will also
be discussed on the reflector and will include
    teleconference options.

  • Copy of proper version of The Oxford English
    Dictionary (OED)
  • SI Guide for International Systems of Units
  • Any additional ISO Standardization Handbooks or
    Guidance Documents.
  • 2. PDGs should continue to use ANSI H3.9 as
