• Resilience why is it that some families (like
  individuals) continue to show strength over time
  while other families become mired in troubles?
• A major technique for examining family
  relationships is the ecological model which looks
  at families in their social context /
  environment.

  orgs, welfare agencies ie look at the family
  environmnet in terms of the exo system and macro
  systems
