2- The Lions-Tacade partnership
- a strong and effective partnership now in
its 25th year
3- The Lions-Tacade partnership has raised funds
to develop, deliver and monitor the use of health
promotion resources within schools and other
youth settings - SFA

4Where is the evidence?
Lion Alan Chapman, together with Tacade,
distributed 40 questionnaires to primary and
secondary schools in West Wiltshire, asking
Which resources are you using and how are you as
teachers and your students benefiting?
5- 32 out of 40 questionnaires returned
- All positive results
- All teachers were using the Lions-Tacade
resources - All found them to save time, with less
preparation. - Its a refreshing change to find such valuable
material in an easy to use format! - I used the material with a difficult and
underachieving Year 11 group and it was among the
most successful lessons this year
6Photographic evidence gambling!
7- The partnership makes a difference to the lives
of children and young people
8Further evidence of partnership projects
effective working
- Since 2005, Tacade has been working with the
Dublin Lions Club on a Peer Alcohol Awareness
project - Tacade has trained teachers who then train
15-16 year olds to become Peer Leaders - The programme is designed to equip the peer
leaders with the necessary information and skills
to work with 12-13 year olds
9Formal Evaluation by the Dublin Lions Club
-
- This is an experience that I would strongly
recommend to other schools thoroughly
rewarding ( School Principal) - Very effective and created a good
relationship with the fifth and first years
(Teacher) - I have learned its not cool to drink (1st
year pupil) -
10- Health4Communities project
- Tacade is working
- with Leos
- Still available
- Go for it!
11A further comment from York
- The teachers present on the evening, and
others that I have subsequently seen, have all
been very appreciative to Lions for the
sponsorship of the resources. We hope that young
people can make healthy informed choices when it
comes to drinking alcohol in their formative
years, and feel sure that the resources will be
very beneficial, ensuring they receive
appropriate accurate information - (Lesley White, Drugs Education Consultant,
- York LEA)
12Keys to resources for mainstream and
visually impaired children and young peopleA
well thought out resource that would be useful
across a broader age range.Head of VI Service,
Middlesbrough
13- In January 2008, the Lions of MD 105 and
Tacade jointly signed a 5 year renewal of their

14- Thank you for the funding from the
- Clubs of 105SE towards the
- Bereavement toolkit for both primary and
secondary schools, to include information about
sudden loss, suicide, self-harm and relationship
breakdown. These will enable those working with
children and young people to make an immediate
considered responseand provide ongoing support.
15-
- On behalf of everyone at Tacade I would like to
thank David Skinner and current and past District
Governors and all those clubs who have supported
the partnership over the years. We look forward
to your continued support in this excellent
partnership. - THANK YOU!
