LEVEL ONE
  • Aimed at GB or Welsh Qualifiers or swimmers close
    to qualification
  • Will have qualifying times minimum standard
    equivalent to the A grade times published on
    the British swimming Web Site

LEVEL TWO
  • Aimed at Regional level qualifiers
  • Can be used for entry into National Competitions
  • Will have qualifying times and upper limit
    qualifying times (please note Upper Limit
    Qualifying Times should not be faster than ASA
    Age Group Youth Qualifying Times) for their
    respective age group

LEVEL THREE
  • Aimed at swimmers wishing to achieve a Regional
    Qualifying Time, and not catered for at Level 1
    and Level 2 meets.
  • Meets include A, B and C Graded Meets, and
    Sprint Meets.

LEVEL FOUR
  • Aimed at swimmers not catered for at Level 1,
    Level 2 and Level 3 meets.
  • Intended for swimmers wishing to achieve a
    Regional Qualifying Time.
  • Meets include Club Championships, Swimming
    Leagues, and Development Meets.
  • If Electronic Timing is used, times can be
    submitted for ranking purposes.

MINIMUM AGE FOR COMPETITION
  • Levels 1, 2, and 3 - 8 years of age
  • Level 4 7 years of age
  • Events restricted to members of one club, for
    example club championships, no minimum age

RESPONSIBILTITIES OF THE PANEL
  • Ensure the compliance with the mission statement
  • Issuing licenses
  • Applying sanctions for non compliance
  • Developing common standards
  • Promoting best practice

  • Influence the contents of meets in ,line with
    LTAD
  • Monitoring and Influencing the provision of
    adequate, appropriate competitions for all levels
    of ability
  • Influence compliance with calendar planning
  • Monitoring of the process (Quality control)

QUALITY COMPETITION REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPLIANCE
  • The Level definition of a competition will now
    provide a purpose
  • For example
  • A swimmer seeking an Regional QT would need to
    look for a level 2 meet

QUALITY COMPETITION REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPLIANCE
  • Competition will include an appropriate schedule
    of events consistent with level definition
  • FOR EXAMPLE
  • A level 2 meet will not include in an age group,
    events that are not in the Regional championships

QUALITY COMPETITION REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPLIANCE
  • Appropriate venue (with specific ref to 25m or
    50m)
  • Appropriate warm up arrangements available
    (health and safety will be in place)
  • Meet will comply with maximum total length of
    programmed competition per day (7.5hrs)
  • Maximum Length of a session is 3 hours
  • Officials of an appropriate standard

QUALITY COMPETITION REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPLIANCE
  • Level 1 Electronic timing will be used, and
    where possible for other meets
  • Level 1 there will be a computerised results
    service to enable data to go into the national
    ranking system. Where possible it is recommended
    for level 2 meets also.

MONITORING
  • COMPUTERISED RESULTS TO SWIM WALES OFFICE WITHIN
    3 DAYS
  • REPORT FORMS TO BE RETURNED TO THE MEET LICENSING
    CO-ORDINATOR WITHIN 10 WORKING DAYS
  • QUALITY CONTROL OF QUESTIONNAIRE
