Title: AN EXCITING JOURNEY THROUGH GREEK MYTHOLOGY
1AN EXCITING JOURNEY THROUGHGREEK MYTHOLOGY!
2IntroductionZeus chariot thunders across the
sky as he races to a board meeting of the gods
and goddesses. It seems as though there is some
dissension amongst the deities as to who has made
a bigger difference in the lives of humans. In
order to set the records straight and keep the
arguments at a minimum, you must act as an
intermediary, attend this official meeting, and
plead your case for whom you believe to be
correct. Bring with you some evidence that
supports your ideas and come prepared to defend
your points! .
3Task
- Your task is to make a determination as to which
Greek god or goddess has given more to human
beings. You will explore myths and websites in
order to defend the contributions made by an
Olympian or lesser god or goddess. Remember that
you must be clear and have reasons to back your
points. Your final task will be to take your
researched information and the conclusion at
which you have arrived and create a choice of
poem, song, rap, or advertisement to convince the
panel of the Greek mythological characters as
well as your classmates that you are correct!

7Process In order to gather information for your
quest, you must research the basic myths and
brainstorm a list of valid ways the Olympians or
lesser gods have contributed to the lives of
humans. You must look deeply and explore the
backgrounds of each of these gods and goddesses
to make this determination. Be certain to have
factual information from the myths that support
your points.
8EvaluationCompiling all of your information, you
will create a poem, rap, song, or advertisement
to convince the panel of gods, goddesses, and
fellow classmates that your determination is
correct. Rubrics will be used to evaluate your
project, the information that you collected, as
well as your persuasive skills in convincing
others of the validity of your findings. Please
be sure to use your creativity and persuasive
skills to sway the others into believing that you
are correct beyond a shadow of a doubt.
9ConclusionThe gods and goddesses of Mt. Olympus
have stopped arguing and are quite relieved. You
have helped them to recognize the strengths and
influences each has had on humans as well as who
truly is the most influential. Your researched
information has provided you with knowledge of
the basic Greek myths and the contributions each
god or goddess has made to humans as well as to
Greek society. It has been requested that you
attend a Greek feast given in your honor to
celebrate your findings. Remember to dress
appropriately in your Greek garb and bring one
Greek dish as an offering to the great god, Zeus.
Have fun and may the myths of ancient Greece
forever be a source of enjoyment to you!
